I was completing the final edit on my soon to be released novel, “Walking the Dog” when I ran across a paragraph which somehow escaped my conscious mind when I first wrote it. Strange how a mindful concept crept into my PG 13 novel about life on Federal Hill in the sixties and seventies.

“No one can predict with any certainty when, where, why or how people become friends. There is some underlying affinity; usually undefined which draws unrelated souls together. Sometime they are united in need; there is a joint goal on which they can collaborate. Sometime the attraction is purely physical and at other times purely intellectual. It is the strongest relationships which are based on a combination of many factors. The more points of intersection, the stronger the bond.”

Go out into this wonderful world and create some bonds with total strangers. Your world will expand and become a place of compassion and peace..

About bob sendling

I began my study of meditation and mindfulness seven years ago after a disabling accident. My recovery was being hindered by the animosity I held deeply. I was obsessed by the idea of getting even with those who put me in harm's way, changing the future course of my life dramatically. I first studied privately with a skilled therapist who was a Zen Master. He exposed me to the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh. I still follow those principals in my daily life. I have also studied at A Zen Temple in a group setting and faithfully continue my practice and study. I now teach meditation and mindfulness and maintain this website dedicated to spreading peace and love to a mindful community of spiritual people.
